Danielle Morrison
Danielle H. Morrison, a proud Treaty 3 member of the Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing, practices in Indigenous Law, First Nations Governance, Business Law (Corporate and commercial), Non-Profit Law, Entertainment Law, Intellectual Property (Copyright, Trademarks, Patents), and Administrative and regulatory matters (Inquests). She received her call to the Bar in July 2020.
Before attending law school, Danielle built a strong career in program delivery, policy review, and advocacy with various Indigenous-led movements and non-profit organizations at both grassroots and national levels. This includes the National Association of Friendship Centres and the Assembly of First Nations. During this time, she spent two years as an outreach worker and form-filler, assisting survivors of the Indian Residential Schools system with their abuse claims in the Independent Assessment Process.
Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Visual Arts and a minor in Indigenous Studies. In 2016, she was the lead Community & Cultural Engagement Coordinator for the national tour of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s “Going Home Star: Truth and Reconciliation.”
Danielle serves as a volunteer on various boards and committees, including the Board of Directors for Manitoba Music and the Indigenous Advisory Circle for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. She is Co-Chair of the Manitoba Bar Association Aboriginal Law Section Executive, an Ambassador for the Downie Wenjack Fund and lead for the Joseph Morrison Legacy Fund
Outside of her legal practice, Danielle is a visual graphic artist, photographer, small business owner of Clan Mother Goods & Apparel, and mother to three children.
