Camille Fortin
Camille Fortin is an Associate at the Vancouver office of Cochrane Sinclair who practises primarily in Indigenous Law, Public Law, Class Actions and Civil Litigation.
Camille completed her articles at an Immigration and Family law firm in Montreal where she provided services in Spanish, French and English. Following her admission to the Barreau du Québec, Camille pursued a Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Nationhood at the University of Victoria, engaging in projects focused on revitalizing and enacting Indigenous legal orders. She co-authored a report that advanced the W̱SÁNEĆ community's legal traditions within a municipal governance framework. Additionally, she served as a research assistant for Professor Heidi Kiiwetinepinesiik Stark at the Center for Indigenous Research and Community-Led Engagement, further enriching her legal expertise.
Camille went on to complete a clerkship at the Federal Court with the Honourable Justice Régimbald before joining Cochrane Sinclair, where she contributed to the Aboriginal Law Bar Liaison Committee—a forum designed to equip advocates and the Court with the tools to respectfully consider Indigenous laws.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Camille enjoys mountain biking, trail running, yoga and skiing. She is also a member of Protect Our Winters' Science Alliance.
