Cochrane Sinclair LLP is pleased to welcome Elizabeth Walker to our Winnipeg office as our newest Articling Student.

Elizabeth obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba in 2026. Prior to studying law, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Anthropology/Archaeology and worked as an archaeological assistant with both the provincial and federal governments.

These experiences sparked a strong interest in the historical and contemporary relationships between Indigenous peoples, Canadian law, and reconciliation. Elizabeth carried these interests into law school, where she focused her studies on Treaties, Indigenous legal systems, and human rights.

Throughout her legal education, Elizabeth gained practical experience as a summer student with the Legal Help Centre and through the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic externship. In her third year of law school, she also served as the Manitoba Law Students’ Association representative on the University of Manitoba Students’ Union Board of Directors, advocating on behalf of law students.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Elizabeth brings a thoughtful perspective and a strong commitment to learning and community engagement.

We are excited to welcome Elizabeth to the firm and look forward to supporting her as she begins her legal career with Cochrane Sinclair.
