Elizabeth Walker is an Articling Student at Cochrane Sinclair LLP. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba in 2026. Elizabeth grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Prior to studying law, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Anthropology/Archaeology and worked as an archaeological assistant with the provincial and federal governments. These experiences deepened her interest in the historical and contemporary relationships between Indigenous peoples, Canadian law, and reconciliation. She brought these interests into law school, where she focused on Treaties, Indigenous legal systems, and human rights. Elizabeth gained practical experience as a summer student at the Legal Help Centre and through the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic externship. In her third year, she also advocated for law students on the University of Manitoba Students’ Union Board of Directors as the Manitoba Law Students’ Association representative. Elizabeth enjoys creating artwork, reading and listening to audiobooks, and spending time with family and friends.
