Josef Rosenthal

Josef Rosenthal is Senior Counsel in our Vancouver office. His practice focuses on Indigenous Law, Constitutional Law, and specific claims. Before joining Cochrane Sinclair, Josef spent more than a decade with the Federal Department of Justice. During that time, he acted as counsel on matters involving Aboriginal rights and title, treaty rights, and claims before the Specific Claims Tribunal. Josef has appeared before the British Columbia Provincial Court, British Columbia Supreme Court, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, the Specific Claims Tribunal, and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. His extensive experience working on complex Indigenous and constitutional law matters allows him to provide informed and thoughtful counsel on issues involving the rights, interests, and priorities of Indigenous Nations and communities. Outside of the office, Josef enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, and playing soccer.
