Cochrane Sinclair LLP is proud to welcome Myriam Brulot to our Vancouver office as Senior Counsel. With more than 25 years of experience working alongside First Nations in British Columbia, Myriam brings a deep commitment to justice, historical accountability, and respectful community partnership.
Myriam’s practice is grounded in decades of work addressing historical grievances, reserve land issues, governance needs, and breaches of Crown obligations. She has supported Nations across British Columbia through legal research, claim development, negotiation, litigation, and advocacy, working closely with community leadership at every stage. Her experience spans the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Specific Claims Tribunal.
Her approach is shaped by a long standing dedication to truth telling, historical clarity, and supporting Nations in driving their own pathways to redress and recognition.
“Working with First Nations for more than two decades has taught me the importance of listening first,” says Myriam.
“Every Nation brings its own history, its own priorities, and its own vision for the future. It is an honour to support that work with care, accuracy, and respect.”
Myriam’s arrival expands Cochrane Sinclair’s growing presence in British Columbia and strengthens our ability to support clients navigating governance matters, treaty issues, historical claims, and nation building initiatives.
“Myriam’s experience in British Columbia is exceptional,” says Max Faille, Managing Partner, Vancouver Office.
“Her dedication to community driven advocacy reflects the values of our firm, and her depth of knowledge will strengthen the services we provide to Nations across the province.”
Her expertise also complements the firm’s expanding work in Specific Claims, where she has built a respected, long standing reputation.
“Myriam’s commitment to historical accountability and her understanding of complex Crown obligations make her an invaluable addition to our team,” says Shawn Scarcello, Co-Managing Partner.
“Her experience will help us advance the work we do for First Nations seeking meaningful redress and long term solutions.”
Outside of her legal practice, Myriam volunteers with animal rescue organizations and marginalized individuals, and she enjoys traveling and spending time with her children and her dogs.
Cochrane Sinclair is honoured to welcome her as we continue expanding our presence and capacity in western Canada.
