Cochrane Sinclair LLP is pleased to welcome Asha Young to our Vancouver office as our newest Lawyer. Asha practises corporate and commercial law, advising clients on incorporations and business formations, corporate structuring and reorganizations, and ongoing governance and compliance matters.
Before joining the firm, Asha articled and practised at a leading regional law firm in British Columbia, where she worked with businesses across a wide range of industries. Her experience includes advising on share and asset purchase transactions, mergers and amalgamations, and related due diligence and transactional structuring. She also assists clients with shareholders’ and ownership matters and drafts and negotiates a variety of commercial agreements.
Asha was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2020. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in 2019, where she received the Raymond G. Herbert Award for best overall graduating student. During her studies, she was also recognized with the Law Foundation of British Columbia Public Interest Award.
In addition to her legal practise, Asha is a contributing author to Corporate Law and Sustainability from the Next Generation of Lawyers (2022) and is actively involved in the legal community. She currently serves on the UBC Alumni Advisory Council, representing the UBC Law Faculty, and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Vancouver Bar Association, and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers.
“Asha brings a thoughtful, precise approach to corporate and commercial work,” says Max Faille, Managing Partner, Vancouver Office.
“She combines strong technical ability with a clear understanding of the practical realities our clients face. Her experience and judgment will be a real asset to the Vancouver team.”
Asha’s practise strengthens the firm’s growing corporate and commercial capacity in British Columbia, supporting clients with governance, structuring, and transactional needs alongside Cochrane Sinclair’s broader advocacy work.
“Asha’s academic achievements and deep professional experience speak for themselves,” says Aaron Christoff, Partner.
“She brings rigour and a broad perspective to her work, and we are excited to have her join the firm as we continue to expand our range of services for our Indigenous clients.”
Cochrane Sinclair is proud to welcome Asha to the team.
