This accomplishment underscores Kent's dedication to fostering athletic excellence within our community.

A Proud Heritage and Passion for Boxing

Kent Brown hails from the Fisher River Cree Nation in Manitoba. His admiration for boxing legend Muhammad Ali ignited a passion for the sport that has spanned over two decades. Throughout his boxing career, Kent has participated in over 120 bouts, securing 105 victories. In 2000, he became the Canadian National Champion and qualified for the Sydney Olympic Games. Two years later, he clinched a gold medal at the North American Indigenous Games in Winnipeg.

Transitioning from Athlete to Mentor

Following his competitive career, Kent transitioned into coaching, earning a full Level 3 coaching certification from the National Coaching Certification Program. He currently serves as the President of the Manitoba Amateur Boxing Association and coaches at the United Boxing Club. His coaching philosophy integrates First Nations traditions with boxing techniques, emphasizing respect and cultural values.

Balancing Professional Excellence and Community Commitment

Beyond his contributions to boxing, Kent holds a Human Resources and Labour Relations Diploma from the University of Manitoba and Queen's University. With 29 years of experience in human resources, primarily within Indigenous social services, he brings a First Nations perspective to his role at Cochrane Sinclair LLP. His expertise encompasses coaching, policy development, labour relations, facilitation, conflict resolution, and performance management.

His journey from a passionate boxer to a respected coach and professional serves as an inspiration to many, reflecting the values of dedication, respect, and community engagement that Cochrane Sinclair LLP holds in high esteem.
